Welcome to KRC Chatroom. Feel free to join us at the chatroom and ask any computer questions you may have there. The chatroom is still a new feature, so if no one is there, you may check back later. The user Stewie is not a real person, so if that's the only user you see in there, then that means there is no one else there. My username will be @greyknight17.
Instructions on how to use the chat feature below:
Usernames (aka nicks): Your username will automatically be assigned by the server as KRCxxx where the xxx is any 3 random numbers. If you want to change your username (aka nick), just type in the name you want in the bottom right corner (Change nick to) and hit Enter when ready. That will be your nick for this session only. If you want to keep this nick for yourself only and use it each time, then you must register the nick so it's your's for the keeping. This is also easy to do.
Registering nicks: Make sure you have changed your nick to one that you like to keep before doing this. Then in the chat window's blank field (right above the word public), type in /ns register password email where password and email is the password you want to assign to this nick and email is your email address. That's it. So from now on when you want to use your username again, you have to provide a "login" password for that username before you can use it. So let's just say you want your username to be greyknight17. You will first come to this page (or using your IRC client to go to KRC Chatroom) and change your nick to greyknight17. Then you will get a message saying that the nick is registered and you must enter identify it by entering your password. You have to type the password using the following syntax/format - /ns identify password, where password is the password you assigned to this nick when you registered it. After that, your "logged" in using your nick. Enter KRC Chatroom (/join #krc) and start chatting...
For those who know how to use IRC chat and have your own IRC clients, you can go directly to irc://irc.wyldryde.org:6667/krc and join us there.
If no one is in the chatroom and you don't mind waiting for someone to answer your question, then feel free to stop by KRC Forum to post your questions there instead. Registration is free for everyone. Do not post your question in the chatroom when no one is there since we will not be able to see them even after we log in. Post in KRC Forum instead.
