Installing Windows couldn't be easier when Microsoft released Windows XP. It should be the easiest to install than the older versions. Just follow the steps outlined below and you should be on your way to using XP.
1. Change your boot sequence in your BIOS (refer to your manual
on how to) to boot from the CD drive first.
2. Insert the Windows XP CD and let your computer boot from it.
3. Hit any key to enter setup and let it load.
4. Choose the option for a new install, since this is your first time installing
it.
5. You may create your partitions if you want. If not, go ahead and format
your hard drive.
6. I would highly recommend that you format in
NTFS instead of FAT32 because it's more stable and secure.
7. Choose Full Format if this is a new hard drive. If not, you may choose
Quick Format.
8. Let it format your hard drive. This may take a while.
9. After it's finished, let the Windows installation begin.
10. It will ask you for some information during the installation; time zone,
date, etc.
11. Configure the settings when the installation is finished (XP restarts
and asks for username, etc.).
12. Logon to Windows XP and enjoy!
